Reconnecting

I was invited to join them for Christmas
but this family time feels too intimate
to barge in on. Yes, it’s me holding back.
Haven’t gotten my sea legs under me
to enter into new adventures with others.

Instead I’ll allow the quiet to surround me
Reconnect with myself
Find out what I do when I don’t have to do anything
Figure out how I can invite others in…
Yes…it’s time to reconnect with the one.

  1. I clean stalls and snuggle with horses. If you were here, I’d invite you!

  3. That’s always the best thing to do. Merry Christmas.

This song came through the other day.

    Christmas Lives

The only place that Christmas lives
Is in the depth of your heart.
You can hear all the songs and see all the lights,
But it won’t mean a thing if you don’t play your part
Christmas can only be what you allow
    It to mean to you.
It can be a time when you feel like a girl or boy
As they unwrap their favorite toy.
Let it be whatever you want it to.
Make a Merry Christmas for you.

No one ever said it’s easy to be true to yourself. I admire the way you can acknowledge what your own truth is and sit with it. It’s the sitting that sucks sometimes. Way to go, Barb!

I was wondering if you would write about Christmas. I am glad. I chose to spend it with Brett for three days, cleaning his home, washing his clothes and cooking him great food for him to eat when he got home from work at the hospital. Blackberry cobbler, cinnamon rolls, blueberry pancakes, baked chicken and veggies, homemade spaghetti sauce and hot bread. We chose to visit over the good food and have deep talk about what really is important to each of us. We also took time to express the qualities about the other which we admire the most. I love life and I love to share with the people I love to be with: simple things really.
I love you, Barbara and thank you for your self, your words and your presence.
