The Storm

The wind whipped around and through
The tree limbs followed, wildly dancing
Swaying, twisting, bowing

I felt Thunder in my bones
“Danger, go inside”
But in awe I couldn’t leave

Powerful, wild, alive
My heart was drawn in
Connected to this dance of life

This storm was trying to tell me something. In the chaos and tragedy going on these days, what do I see? What does my heart connect to? Is there always a choice between fear/anger and something more? Is there always beauty in the chaos?

I’m being told to move away from either/or, right/wrong, good/evil. Can I hold it all?

I love being in the middle of a storm, especially when I’m in Big Nature. My plan is to be on my horse, on a big beautiful mountain in the middle of a giant hail and rain storm. I raise both arms to the sky and am struck by lightening. In a flash, I am dead. Somehow, my horse is spared and gallops back to the safety of his home and herd. My bones are food for the critters. Some day some person comes upon my remaining skeleton and makes up a story about what happened.

I felt that thunder in my bones too! My two cats did too and they snuggled in my lap during the entire storm. It was an amazing display of Nature.

beautiful. I was caught out on my sailboat during a horrible straightline wind storm which sunk 6 bass boats near me. During the time I prayed and handled the boat in the 60 mph wind in the pitch dark. I was alone searching for my Self. I shouted prayer to God to help me during the worst part and I heard a voice outside of me say emphatically:
Go with the storm!. I believe it was God speaking to me. I changed my strategy, and made it to shore within maybe half an hour of lightening, thunder rain and screaming wind . The lake was chopped with 3 to 5 foot swells. The rain stung my back like bees. When I approached the muddy bank, I shouted out, “Clear the way. I”m coming ashore. I”m Strong In The Lord!!! ” It was 9pm. I”d been in it for a full hour. I will never forget the incredible sensation of hearing that voice answer me loud and clear. I have seen in the Bible that Peter was given the same guidance when out in his boat. Go with the storm. And so I do. Yes there is beauty in chaos and it brings down the Thunder.
